Research, teaching, and explanation work kept reinforcing the same instinct: complicated systems matter more when someone else can actually follow them.

What persisted
Across research, teaching assistant work, and community leadership, the same preference kept appearing: take something complicated, and build a surface that lets another person stay oriented inside it.
That preference later shows up again in the archive itself, in the identity and energy systems, and even in the design of how projects are documented.
